Why we should exercise
So many of us never exercise or rarely exercise. We work, we’re tired, we go home, and we never exercise. You have been told many times throughout your life that exercise is good for you, that you’re overweight and need to exercise, and that if you do not exercise, chances are that you will die prematurely. So why should you exercise? You should exercise because it is good for you.
When you exercise, you are building your body up to be strong and you will be able to move around and do everything you need to do for yourself and for your family. If you are active everyday, your body will be healthier and you will live longer.
There are many reasons a person should exercise. Not only will exercise help you live a longer, fuller life, but it will also make you healthier and feel good. Exercise will help to strengthen your cardiovascular and respiratory systems by circulating oxygen-rich blood through your heart and into your blood vessels. Exercise lowers the buildup of plaque in your arteries, prevents high blood pressure problems, and lowers your blood pressure if you already have high blood pressure. When it comes to your respiratory system, exercise will help with deep breathing, allowing your lungs to hold more oxygen to keep your cells alive and healthy.
Exercising regularly will keep your bones and your muscles strong so you do not get osteoporosis, which is a bone-weakening disease. As you get older, your bones and muscles will weaken, but exercise will help keep them strong. Exercising will also help to manage, lose, or maintain your weight as well as helps you to prevent diabetes, depression, pain, and stress. On an even better note, exercise enhances your libido and sex drive and makes you feel more attractive to your partner. Exercise definitely restores confidence and self-esteem in all departments.
Besides making you feel good while you’re awake, exercise also helps you sleep better at night. When you exercise, your brain releases endorphins that make you feel happy and alert. If you will exercise, you can help prevent all of these things from happening to your body. Reduce the stress, get to exercising, and avoid heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes. Exercise will make your work situation more tolerable by relieving the job stress.
The statistics are overwhelming to say the least. Out of all the choices we make to stay healthy, exercising is the most important choice of all. Approximately two hundred and fifty thousand deaths each year happen because of the lack of regular exercise and activity. Recent studies have shown that people who are active on a regular basis live longer than those who are sedentary (or sit).
People exercise for all different reasons, whether it’s to lose weight for yourself, your children, your husband, or because the doctor told you to or you would not live a long and healthy life. Whatever your reason, get up, get motivated, and you will see all of the benefits that exercise gives to the human body.
